Their support area of their website says that if I even TRY to send a ticket, that, not only will it NOT be answered, but it could push my verification back even further. I quickly passed their “Basic Verification”, and was moved on to “Advanced Verification”, to which I had supplied all documents, and have been in “Pending Verification” since. In fact, my current visible balance on is over $20,000. I was able to sell it and turn it into US currency. I was not sure how to sell it so with the help of a friend, I sent it from my ledger to. On, I signed up to sell my Dogecoin that I have held in my possession since 2017. “Their support area of their website says that if I even TRY to send a ticket, that, not only will it NOT be answered, but it could push my verification back even further.” At this point it has already been over 30 days which is an unreasonable amount of time to have my funds locked with no response from the company. 2/2/21: As of today my $3,186.13 in cash is still locked in my wallet on the exchange. I followed up on my original ticket but am waiting to hear a response.1/30/21: I attempted to reach out to Binance US via Twitter since I was not getting a response via help center/email, and since the company had no other contact options (chat, phone, etc.) I am still waiting to hear a response. 1/28/21: Another 2 weeks passed with no progress. I submitted a ticket to Binance US through the company’s help center asking for a status update on my request. 1/15/21: After waiting for 2 weeks, my account had still not passed Cash Account Verification and I was still unable to withdraw my funds. I wanted to withdraw my cash balance from my wallet but was unable to do so because my account had not passed Cash Account Verification yet, so I waited for verification. 12/29/20 - 12/31/20: In the following days I transferred various cryptocurrencies into my account at Binance US and sold these cryptocurrencies, resulting in a cash balance of $3,186.13 USD in my wallet. I submitted a request for Cash Account (Fiat) Verification which would give me permission to withdraw cash from my account as well, but was not immediately approved. I completed Basic and Advanced Verification of my account by submitting identity and address information, giving me permission to deposit and withdraw cryptocurrency. I registered for an account at Binance US, a cryptocurrency exchange. “After waiting for 2 weeks, my account had still not passed Cash Account Verification.” I am beginning to believe that is nothing but a scam to get people’s money. They repeatedly say that they are very busy and will make sure and pass my information to the appropriate party. They have responded with an email back to me about every 7-10 days and have basically given me the run around as far as resolving my issue of being able to log into my account. There is no physical address or phone number. I contacted them by the only means available on their website, which is email. Everything was going smoothly for about 7 months, and then I had trouble logging into my account about 2 months ago and was locked out. I invested a large sum of money ($16,000.00 which had grown to over $34,000.00), with after Matt McCall who authors the Crypto Investor Network and whom I subscribe to, recommended them as a firm to use to invest in crypto currencies. has not responded to our request for comment, the company responded to Bloomberg back in May with, “We take our legal obligations very seriously and engage with regulators and law enforcement in a collaborative fashion.” “I am beginning to believe that is nothing but a scam to get people’s money.” Binance also lacks any way to get customer service via email.īinance is reportedly under investigation for money laundering and other illicit activities by the DOJ and IRS, according to Bloomberg. This is a common scam and it’s one we’ve seen before during FOIA investigations of companies like Tinder. The company doesn’t have a phone number for customers, which means that when you search Google for one, all you’re seeing are numbers seeded by scam artists, not Binance. The second pattern is a number of people who say they were scammed while trying to find a customer support phone number online for Binance and wound up getting taken for a ride by people not affiliated with Binance. Other times, people say they deposited money but simply aren’t able to take any money out for weeks and sometimes months, assuming they could access the money at all. Most often, but not always, it appears their accounts were flagged for “suspicious activity” and the people are unsure how to then withdraw their money from Binance, even after trying to verify their identity. The first, and arguably most alarming pattern, appears to be people who put large amounts of money into Binance but say they can’t get their money out.

Closing time doctor who8/29/2023 I can't imagine what other job she could have been given, really: she started as a kissogram and we haven't seen her demonstrate any specialised skills during the series, unless being a flame-haired Scottish amazon counts. Xander Markham 25 September 2011 at 12:45Īs soon as I saw the perfume advert, I thought back to your excellent post about the Ponds and imagined how enraged you would be! I would argue that the amount of Doctor-related stuff (Girl who waited Petrichor, which is surely a terrible name for a perfume?) hints that she's more in control of her campaign than the average model. Honestly, I can't wait for Doctor Who writers to discover the fact that the most interesting episodes were never the grandest and traditionally 'epic', but the smaller, shorter, quieter episodes with a moment for brief introspection.Īlso, please, 'angsty doctor'? Have you ever HEARD of David Tennant? Reply Delete The rest were riddled with deus ex machinas and cliché and attempts to be 'epic' - even RTD struggled with them. The only good Dalek episode was the first one, 'Dalek'. There's two tricks to it: treating the enemy seriously (giving them respect when due, adding fear when necessary, ensuring they're intelligent enough not to die by deus ex), and trying to show them in an original light. I don't think Moff knows how to work serious episodes - he can do scary, and funny, and entertaining one-offs, but I think he's rather clueless when it comes to dealing with old nemeses. Of course they totally wrecked the cybermen. It's surprisingly witty and well written filler, you see, and like you've mentioned, the dynamic between Doctor and Craig is very genuine and seems to work well. I liked the episode when I accepted it for what it was - pointless filler. I'm no great Amy fan myself - she's a fun character, but lacking in development to the point it's getting annoying - but criticism seems a wee bit unjustified. Karen Gillian (aka Pond's actress) actually has done some modelling in the past, so I can actually forgive the use of her as model in the episode for that reason. Lynda Baron, the old lady in the shop, played one of my favorite Who villains ever, a campy space pirate on a quest for Enlightenment, in the Peter Davison episode Enlightenment (which is easily one of my top three Who episodes of all time, and frequently sits at #1 depending on my mood). Just as God Complex called back to a classic Sylvester McCoy episode, this time we called back to a beloved Peter Davison episode. If you're going to make a merely so-so episode, don't make call backs to widely beloved episodes If River doesn't know she's a weapon, why did she try to kill the Doctor? Though it now makes sense why she would call him "The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived". God.Īlso, we learned that Let's Kill Hitler now makes no sense whatsoever. Complete with eye-patch and evil laughter. The actress who plays Madame Kovarian seems to have escaped from the set of Animaniacs, she's such a ridiculous cartoon. Mechanical engineering can be defeated with love! The writers have taken a formerly terrifying villain and reduced it to something weak and silly, which not only undermines any feeling of danger within the episode, it undermines every encounter with the Cybermen before or after. The Cybermen have officially been Dalekked Nice to know that her adult emotional journey has gone from brainless adult sexpot to brainless adult sexpot, turning into an actual doll along the way.Īnd really, "The Girl Who Was Tired of Waiting"? She has literally learned nothing from God Complex, and as she doth protest too much, that only means she is still waiting. Just when you thought Amy Pond couldn't get worse, she doesĬosmetics model? Blech. The best stuff in this episode involved him facing up to who he is and how others see him and how nothing is quite so simple as he imagines). He thinks he might actually die (and it's fascinating how accepting he is of his fate. He accepts their friendship for what it is, with a splash of hero worship.īut at least this time it isn't just because he's regenerating. The friendship between Craig and the Doctor feels remarkably real to me, with so much genuine affection. Methinks the Moff has serious daddy issues. Although, this didn't trouble me as much this time around because it's clear that Sophie has done the parenting and Craig hasn't quite connected with his child in the same way. Once again, the woman leaves at the beginning of the episode and returns in the end. The writers have no interest whatsoever in dealing with motherhood. Another disappointing episode, but at least it wasn't as rage-worthy as the last three. Jdm skyline8/29/2023 Our antique car dealership in Christiansburg, VA, sells an incredible selection of classic vehicles from many different eras, as well as a wide selection of Japanese RHD vehicles that will announce your presence and uniqueness with authority. Needless to say, even as a Japanese used car, it is definitely a good vehicle for racing.Īt Carused.jp, We have luxury vehicles and race cars like the Nissan Skyline. If you're looking for a classic car or Japanese domestic right-hand-drive vehicle in the U.S., Canada or world-wide, turn to Duncan Imports & Classic Cars. Aside from race tracks, this model is mostly seen in video games and movies like The Fast and the Furious. The Nissan Skyline undeniably has high-tech specs, allowing it to reach high speeds. Aside from those, the back diffuser’s form is designed to make down force while cooling the differential. With the engine and back differential covered, the airflow has become less turbulent and smoother. Since components like the rear axle and motor are underneath the body, you can expect the Skyline GT-R to produce lift. For instance, the back and front diffusers are now fixed under the floor pan. Nissan used the data the line has accumulated from racetracks to help level the airflow and make other developments in the design. If you ever get your hands on a Nissan Skyline GTR, you will notice how its aerodynamic effectiveness has improved compared to previous generations. While the Skyline GT did not take the first place, its remarkable performance still marked a significant moment in history. Ultimately, the 155 mph-fast Porsche won the race. It led Porsche just before the hairpin turn, causing a louder cheer in the Japanese crowd. However, there was a fleeting moment wherein the Skyline GT had the lead. At the actual race, the Skyline GT was defeated into second place by the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS. Out of the practice session, this vehicle recorded the fastest lap at 2:47. When famed racer Yoshikazu Sunako from Japan rode the Skyline GT for practice laps, he immediately felt that he was driving something special. This model was recognized for its longer nose and straight-six engine that contains three carburetors. There were about a hundred units completed in time for the race. This was the time when the new Skyline GT was just homologated. Its racing reputation was built at the 1964 Suzuka Circuit. The Nissan Skyline became a legendary vehicle when it won all its races when it was first introduced. Some of the famous models of the Nissan Skyline include the ones released in 2002, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2014. This was also the time when the GTR version was introduced. Introduced in 1989, the R32 Nissan Skyline created a huge turning point for the Japanese car company. Some of the versions of this line include the R32, R33, and the recent one which is the R35-GT-R. Nissan continues to improve the Skyline series using modern technology. Weighing around 1,300 kg, the first generation also used a de Dion tube rear suspension, enabling it to accelerate at 87 mph or 140 km/h. With a 482 cc GA30 engine, it can produce 44kW of power. The Nissan Skyline was introduced in April, 1957 and was sold as a luxury vehicle. It is not surprising that this vehicle was met with so much fanfare when it finally made it to the shores of America. For instance, in the US, consumers were only able to get to enjoy the Nissan Skyline GTR experience through video games. While it has been popular in the JDM for decades, it was not available in certain markets around the world. Most people might recognize the Nissan Skyline from popular video games and movies like Grand Theft Auto, Battle Gear, Need for Speed, and The Fast and the Furious. Pectin vs agar agar8/28/2023 It is low in calories but high in fiber, manganese, magnesium, folate, and iron. In addition to its culinary benefits, agar agar has many nutritional benefits as well. Here are some of them: Chinese gelatin, Chinese isinglass, Japanese gelatin and Japanese isinglass. There are several names for this natural gelatin. What is agar agar powder called in English? Our take on the Piña Colada reimagines the creamy classic as a clear, bubbly long drink. It is a mix of carbohydrates extracted from seaweed, specifically red sea algae. In our postmodern take on this Margarita-adjacent classic, we call on fake lime juice and clarified tomato grenadine for a savory riff on the original. Similar to milk punch, you’re relying on proteins, in this case the egg albumen, to coagulate via heat (as done traditionally in case of consommé clarification) or acidity (much like the milk punch). But this makes it very simple to strain and results in a crystal-clear liquid.Īnother protein that can be used for clarification is egg white, which is an old technique developed by the chefs to clarify stock or consommé. The origins of this classic drink date back to the 1800s, when milk was added to acidic cocktails to make them “easier on the stomach.” It didn’t quite work as intended: When milk is added to an acidic liquid, its proteins will coagulate and curdle, separating from the mixture. One of the most popular examples of this method is the milk punch. Like agar-agar and gelatin, proteins, like milk or egg whites, can also trap unwanted particles in your cocktail. It can also be time consuming and often lowers the yield of your cocktail if a few different filtration levels are required. For clarifying, it’s best to start with the coarsest filter (sieve or muslin cloth) to get the big particles out of the way and then gradually move on to the finest type of a filter (paper coffee filter) this method will work for any type of a cocktail, but does not always provide a crystal-clear appearance. Simple filtration can also yield a clear cocktail. This method will work even for delicate juices and higher-ABV cocktails. After it’s all done, whisk the gel to break it down and let the liquid seep out of the gel over a paper filter. Let it set into a gel, which will take about an hour or so when the mixture reaches room temperature. All you need to do is disperse the activated agar-agar (see above) into your liquid our recommended dosage is 0.02 percent of your total liquid weight. To clarify a juice or a cocktail using the “quick gel” method, opt for agar-agar versus gelatin. Stick to lower-ABV stirred drinks or sours. It’s good to remember that this method may not be suitable for higher-ABV cocktails (21 percent and up), as alcohol has a lower freezing point. If using agar-agar, thawing can be done at room temperature if using gelatin, the gel should be thawed in the fridge. Remove from the freezer and allow it to slowly melt over a paper filter, being careful not to agitate the liquid. You then move the mixture into a freezer and wait until it’s thoroughly frozen, ideally overnight. It you are using agar-agar, make sure it’s “activated”: let the mixture come to very low boil, turn off the heat and let it sit at this temperature for about five minutes to trigger agar-agar’s gelling properties. To clarify a juice or an entire cocktail using the “freeze and thaw” method, you need to blend your hydrocolloid of choice into the liquid. There are two ways you can use agar-agar or gelatin: The “freeze and thaw” method or the “quick gel” method, as described in Dave Arnold’s Liquid Intelligence. Gelatin is a collagen derived from various animal parts that requires refrigeration to set. Agar-agar is a jelly-like substance obtained from algae it has higher gelling properties, which means it will set at room temperature. While agar-agar and gelatin tend to be used interchangeably, there are few differences between these substances. You then use syneresis, a fancy word for extraction of liquid from a gel, to get your crystal clear drink this happens when the gel gets disturbed either by freezing, or simply breaking the structure of the gel. These molecules will intertwine again upon cooling of the liquid, creating a semi-solid mixture. Both substances consist of long chains of molecules that can be “detangled” in hot water. Both agar-agar and gelatin will clarify your drink by trapping all of the solids that make your cocktail cloudy in a gel. In addition, many property owners are required by federal law to purchase and maintain flood insurance if the property is in the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) on the 2007 Flood Insurance Rate Maps, has a federally backed mortgage, or has received federal disaster assistance. Since federal assistance is not guaranteed in the event of a flood, it is important to purchase flood insurance to help you recover if your property is damaged. Flood insurance is an important way to protect your home and help you recover from damages caused by flooding from excessive rainfall, tidal flooding, or storm surge. However, homes within the 1% annual chance floodplain face at least a 1 in 4 chance of flooding during the life of a 30-year mortgage. Standard homeowners’ insurance does not include protection against flood damages. Yes, 38 is the number of time zones in the world, even though that adds up to 39.īecause of the weird UTC +13:45, which is only for New Zealand’s Chatham Islands (population: 800) and only during daylight saving time, which is counted in both the 2nd and 3rd types. 4 bonus time zones (around the International Date Line).11 special offset time zones (not in even 1-hour increments). There are 3 “types” of time zones, if we can call them that: What explains the number of time zones in the world So let’s look at those slight complications. Those modifications have created quite a few quirks on the time zone map, which I’ll cover in a separate post soon (like the neighboring islands with a 26-hour time difference and how to jump forward 3.5 hours in 1 step, in theory).īut that just explains the weird time zone borders, not the reason there are 38 time zones instead of 24. Other countries are huge and should have multiple time zones, but their government wants everyone to have the same time (like in China, for example). Imagine if major cities had a time zone line right in the middle! That would make no sense. See full-size infographicįirst, time zones don’t just follow the longitudinal lines: they were adapted to follow regional and national borders for convenience. This color-coded map shows them well, but we’ll get back to it in a second. There are in fact 38 time zones in the world, over 50% more than it could be if things were kept simple. Each time zone would measure 15 degrees (360 degrees divided by 24 hours) and would represent a 1-hour difference in solar time.īut it’s not that simple. So, in theory, that would make a nice even 24 time zones if each time zone were just 1 hour apart and were set according to distances only. That rotation process takes 24 hours, so that’s the length of a day. It rotates on its axis, so that gives us night and day periods. The Earth is a sphere, so that’s 360 degrees in longitude.
